Where will regular season practices be held?
Practices will be held at sportsplex on Rt 1 in danvers

When does practice start?
Pre-Season begins in Early July.  We will begin our indoor practices the first week in August.  

Will there be tryouts for the National team?
Masco does not hold tryouts for any of our teams. 

How will the teams be split?
Teams are broken up by age, grade, and commitment to national track vs. non national track.  There are many factors that go in to the formation of teams and registration numbers play a large roll. We do recommend registering early as it may be first come first serve when it comes to placement by grade. 

Will the national team have a different enrollment cost than the local team?
The national track teams will not have a different registration fee, however, National track teams will require a $100 check to be held on file (not to be deposited unless commitments are not fulfilled)

Can you explain what it means to be on the National Track, and what type of commitment it entails? 
Teams on the National Track will be striving to compete at the State and Regional events, with the goal of earning the right to travel to the AYC National Championships in Kissimmee, Florida, from December 1rd - December 6th. It is essential that we have full commitment from our athletes and their families to attend all required events.  To ensure the success of our teams, please note the following attendance policy for the National Track season:
- Unexcused Absences: Cheerleaders are allowed 2 unexcused absences from August 17th through September 30th.
-October/November Absences: Any absence in October, November, or December MUST be excused and will require a doctor’s note.
**If a cheerleader exceeds 2 unexcused absences or is removed from the Nationals team due to behavioral concerns, they will still be able to cheer for games but may not be eligible to compete with the Nationals team.
**Please understand that the attendance policy will be strictly enforced. Your child’s ability to participate in the National Championship will be dependent on meeting these requirements.**
A $100 check will be collected at the time of AYC paperwork and national track contract collection, and held on file (not to be deposited unless commitments are not fulfilled). This check will be voided at the end of the Nationals season, provided your child meets the requirements and completes the entire season.  However, if your child does fulfill commitments to Locals, States, Regionals, or Nationals, exceeds the maximum allowed unexcused absences, or is removed for behavioral concerns, the hold will be forfeited and the check will be deposited.

What are the additional costs of being on a national track team? 
Should the teams on the National Track earn the right to compete at the AYC National Championships, it will be a self-funded trip. In preparation, Masco Youth Cheer will be raising funds to assist with travel expenses. All cheerleaders are expected to participate in fundraising activities to be eligible for these funds. If teams do not qualified to travel to Nationals, the funds will remain with the Masco youth Football and Cheer Organization.  The estimated cost based off of last year, is approximately $3500 per athlete. This estimate factored in the average cost of flight, hotel and car rental
